I just want the season to be over...It's like death by a thousand cuts. It's been the same for three decades. Sadly this time it seems the fans are ready to give up on the club. Surprising really when we've seen it all before, and a lot worse. sad but true!

I just want the season to be over...It's like death by a thousand cuts. It's been the same for three decades. Sadly this time it seems the fans are ready to give up on the club. Surprising really when we've seen it all before, and a lot worse. You're right. We have seen it before. Too many times by the looks of it.
The difference between the past and now though is the precarious nature of our existence, and yes, it is more important to support now than ever. But there's only so much you can take before people have had enough. I salute those that will be there right until the last second, but understand those that have walked and will walk away. People's ability to take punishment should not be the main factor in determining quality of support. Those of us that are left are basically self-flagellating and trying to tell everyone else how good it is. Sometimes the only way forward is to walk away with dignity and your mental health.
I'll support my club to the end. She's been a battler for many years, but I don't think she's going to pull through this time. Waiting for the split, and the horror show that's going to unfold is torture.

Sadly there seems to be a certain wiff of inevitability and resignation about the current situation.

Sadly there seems to be a certain wiff of inevitability and resignation about the current situation. Very true. We’ve seen poor teams and relegations before but there’s something different about it this time. In the past there was a feeling we could regroup and come back quickly but in our current situation I struggle to see how we could rebuild. The Salford public really aren’t bothered about the club and the “hardcore” fans aren’t getting any younger so I can only see the attendances dropping even lower. Who can really blame floating supporters for choosing to stay away when the most exciting day we’ve had in donkeys years was avoiding relegation in a million pound game? And how insignificant that day seems now.

I'd hate to think that what we being subjected to currently will be our last memories of Salford.
Even the signing (if he does) of Hastings can't be expected to rescue things.

I really enjoyed everything about yesterday apart from the fare on offer on the field. Topped up my tan for Lloret next week, going into every game not expecting anything from the team is actually quite liberating. Sat a few seats away from Justin Carney and his leggy lovelies for the 2nd half. Bit awkward when the strains of 'Oh Justin Carney...' started. Fell asleep on the train back to Manchester and headed back towards Hull before I realised what was going on around the Dewsbury mark at 10.30pm. Hull is a decent place - the bar in the hotel in the train station is A-Okay.
Tremendous fun. If only somebody could market this sport of ours, you honestly can't beat it.

Having also enjoyed yesterday (except the match), I thought I'd pick up any comments in the M.E.N. No match report (as far as I can see). I accept that the paper can be criticised. I also agree that the lack of a report of a disappointing match may be a good thing. However it shows the importance of our club and sport to the Greater Manchester public.

Can’t really blame the MEN. More people in the Manchester go to watch Basketball and Ice Hockey than RL. We are a joke of a sport in this area.
